PRESIDENT'S PREVIEW PARTY FOR BOOK FESTIVAL PATRONS
Thursday, November 3
The Washington Post calls him "devastatingly funny," and Jerry Seinfeld says that he is the "funniest, most intelligent, coolest comedian." They are talking about comedian Robert Klein, who will be appearing at the Center on Thursday, November 3 at 6:30 p.m. for the President's Preview Party to kick off the 36th Annual Book Festival. For more than 40 years, Klein has entertained audiences as a comedian with his stand-up routines and as an actor on Broadway, and in various television and movie roles. In his first book, The Amorous Busboy of Decatur Avenue, he takes us on an adventurous ride to New York, Chicago and Los Angeles in the 50s and 60s. In this funny, poignant and affectionate coming-of-age memoir, he recounts his journey in a style that is true Robert Klein: witty, honest, self-questioning and contagiously funny. Robert Klein is sure to have everyone laughing for a night that you won't want to miss. This is just one of the benefits you receive for being a patron of the Book Festival. Patron levels starts at $180 for two. Please call 301-348-3778 for more information.
