Volunteer beyond the Bender JCC

Bender JCC’s core values include making the world a better and more just place (Tikkun Olam) and helping those in need through acts of loving kindness (Gemilut Chasidim). As a result, the Bender JCC  chose Interfaith Works as our social action partner so we can immediately begin to make a difference in our local community.

Did you know over 72,000 Montgomery County residents live in poverty and 19,757 of these residents are children? The mission of Interfaith Works is to pursue social justice with an emphasis on identifying and meeting the needs of the poor by leading and engaging Montgomery County’s faith communities in service, education, and advocacy.

Let’s Help Montgomery County Women Lift Themselves Out of Poverty!

Our target project is the Interfaith Works Women’s Center (formerly Wilkins Avenue Women’s Assessment Center), which provides emergency shelter, meals and case management to more than 250 women annually through a 65-bed facility and acts as an intake and assessment center for all single adult homeless women in Montgomery County.
