Accessibility
Accommodations for people with special needs include: sign language and oral interpreters; physical accessibility throughout the facility; integration into ongoing programs; and a flashing light alarm system. People who are deaf or hard of hearing may reach the Center by using the Maryland Relay Service at 1-800-201-7165. Any staff member can also be reached by email by using the person's first initial and last name followed by @jccgw.org. For example, Eva Cowen can be reached at ecowen@jccgw.org.

In a continuing effort to meet the social and recreational needs of people with disabilities, the JCC offers a varied selection of activities and services. A major effort is made to integrate participants, to the extent that is beneficial, into ongoing classes, groups and events. Our programs afford individuals opportunities to enhance self-esteem and improve social skills while developing meaningful relationships.

For assistance with accommodations and inclusion, or for additional information, contact Director of Special Needs Eva Cowen at 301-348-3881.

Amenities
The JCC offers extra amenities to help busy people feel a little less stress. Dunkin' Donuts offers certified kosher doughnuts, bagels, sandwiches, coffee and Baskin Robbins ice cream in the Center's café area. You can purchase a challah in the lobby each Friday, and members can buy discounted movie passes at the Membership Office.

Recreation Station
Come and enjoy the indoor children's play gym located in the Health & Fitness wing. This colorful play equipment includes tunnels, slides, stairs and more. The Recreation Station is designed for children 2-7 years old. All children must be supervised by an adult. Parents are responsible for the safety of their own children.

Lobby Shop Hours
The Lobby Shop, operated by "A Touch of Israel," makes available gifts and Judaica for special occasions and events. Hours of operation are posted on the front door of the shop. The phone number for A Touch of Israel is 301-770-5200.

Kashrut Policy
The JCC observes kashrut (Jewish dietary laws). Among other things, kashrut requires the strict separation of meat and dairy. Any food brought to the Center by program participants must be dairy or pareve. No meat may be brought into or eaten in the building unless it is provided by the JCC.
