Special Needs

In a continuing effort to meet the social and recreational needs of people with disabilities, the Center offers a varied selection of activities and services. A major effort is made to integrate participants, to the extent that it is beneficial, into ongoing classes, groups and events.

The Center’s programs afford individuals opportunities to enhance self-esteem and improve social skills while developing meaningful relationships. Families who have a member with special needs are encouraged to participate in all Center-wide activities and events. During school vacation days, children with specials needs are integrated into the Center’s Fill-in-the-Gap programs.

Every effort is made to provide support for anyone with special needs who wishes to participate in Center classes and programs. For assistance with accommodations, inclusion and additional information, please contact Katie Berman at 301-348-3735 or kberman@jccgw.org.
