Camp JCC Openings - Summer 2008
CAMP JCC at the JCC of Greater Washington in Rockville, MD has a number of positions available for Summer 2008. Our staff is a fun, unique and diverse group with a variety of backgrounds and experiences.
PROFESSIONAL-LEVEL POSITIONS:
PRESCHOOL CAMP PROGRAM HEAD who loves working with 4 and 5-year olds and can inspire young adults to create a fun and warm environment for their campers. Must have college degree or above.
PRESCHOOL TEACHERS who will nurture and care for 4 year- olds, preferably with college degree or at least 22 years old.
MADRICHIM (Head Counselors) who will make connections with both campers and counselors. Will have the opportunity to grow and learn. Must have a college degree or significant previous camp experience.
CAMP OFFICE—ATTENDANCE/TRANSPORTATION COORDINATOR Responsibilities include managing, recording, and monitoring daily camper attendance and primary liaison between Camp JCC and our bus company. Excellent customer service skills required and willingness to assist with administrative duties as needed to help keep the camp office running smoothly. Go beyond the call of duty and have fun! Must have experience using MS Word, Excel, and Access.
FOOD/SUPPLY ROOM COORDINATOR responsible for ordering and distributing snacks and supplies. Must possess strong organization skills, people skills, and be a savvy shopper. Creativity is a plus; allergy awareness is a must!
CALLING ALL SPECIALISTS, WE NEED YOU! Must be fun, creative, and energetic with a college degree or equivalent experience. The following specialties are available: Art, Music, Nature, Movement, Computers and more. These positions involve developing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum for a full summer program in the given specialty, either working with preschool campers and/or children ages 6 through 11.
OTHER AWESOME POSITIONS AVAILABLE
for college and high school students:
SENIOR and JUNIOR COUNSELORS for our general and specialty camp programs serving ages 4 through 11. Must be entering at least 11th grade through college. Excellent training provided!
TEEN TRIP CAMP COUNSELORS with the ability to be role models for campers entering 7th-9th grades. Must be at least a Junior in college or have previous experience at the JCCGW. Experience working with teens is preferable.
SWIM STAFF who are fun, responsible, and enjoy teaching children swimming skills. Must be entering 11th grade or above.
INCLUSION COUNSELORS who will work one-on-one with our campers with a wide range of disabilities within regular camp groups. These positions provide extraordinary experiences for individuals interested in psychology, social work, special ed., occupational therapy, medicine, family studies, or recreation therapy. Additional training is provided.
